Operating Engineer

Abscope Environmental, Inc., a rapidly growing, award winning, environmental remediation firm is seeking qualified Operating Engineers to work on projects located throughout the Northeast US. Our projects are varied and often include deep excavations that require sheet pile shoring, mass earth moving and specialty remediation work on a smaller scale. Because of our safety minded culture and our willingness to work in harmony with our clients, we have successfully secured multiple large contracts throughout the Northeast.

 

Job Duties:

  • Actively participate in company safety culture
  • Inspect assigned equipment daily
  • Fuel and grease assigned equipment daily
  • Safely operate assigned equipment
  • Work diligently on assigned tasks
  • Notify supervisor in a timely manner of any job related issues, incidents or accidents
  • Work in harmony with supervisor and fellow employees
  • Report any equipment abnormalities to the supervisor immediately
  • Accurately report daily hours worked to supervisor

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a journeyman operator
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations for construction sites
  • Strong understanding of site survey control
  • Thorough understanding of the proper operation and maintenance of heavy equipment
  • Understanding of automated GPS survey and grade control.
  • Must possess a high degree of integrity
  • Current 40 hour HAZWOPER
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must pass company pre-employment medical exam and drug test
  • Must pass pre-employment background check

Laborer

Our projects are varied and often include deep excavations that require sheet pile shoring, mass earth moving and specialty remediation work on a smaller scale. Job Duties:

  • Actively participate in company safety culture
  • Safely perform labor tasks assigned by supervisor
  • Safely operate assigned equipment such as pressure washers, lifts, skid steers, pumps, etc.
  • Work diligently on assigned tasks
  • Notify supervisor in a timely manner of any job related issues, incidents or accidents
  • Work in harmony with supervisor and fellow employees
  • Report any equipment abnormalities to the supervisor immediately
  • Accurately report daily hours worked to supervisor

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a journeyman laborer
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations for construction sites
  • Thorough understanding of the safe and proper operation of standard construction equipment such as pumps, lifts, skid steers, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of the safe and proper use of small tools and equipment such as drills, cut-off saws, pressure washers, generators, etc.
  • Must possess a high degree of integrity
  • Current 40 hour HAZWOPER
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must pass company pre-employment medical exam and drug test
  • Must pass pre-employment background check
