Rome Remedial Action Phase II - Sheeting portion

Major Project Tasks:    

  • Design and install two watertight sheet piling structures compiling over 50,000 VSF to handle all construction loads and hydrostatic pressures from the groundwater table
  • Implement vibration monitoring during sheeting installation
  • Erection of temporary excavation enclosure and Installation of air handling units with odor control and ventilation
  • Excavation and removal of 12,000 CY of MGP impacted soils to a depth of 28 feet
  • Transportation and disposal of impacted soils to permitted landfill or thermal treatment and disposal facility
  • Demolition and removal of underground reinforced concrete MGP structures
  • Construct and implement groundwater treatment plant and discharge to local POTW
  • Use of Rusmar odor control foam as per NYSDEC regulations
  • Backfill excavations with compacted fill
  • Restore site including restoration of wetland area
