Lake Bluff Slope Stabilization

General Location: Ontario, NY

Abscope was contracted by a consortium of property owners to stabilize a badly eroded slope located on Lake Ontario’s southeastern shore. The total bluff was approximately two (2) acres, with nearly vertical topography.  Requiring Abscope to  utilize specialized construction equipment adaptable to severe slope grades.

 

Abscope’s responsibilities:

• Stabilized slope of a badly eroded glacial till bluff located on Lake Ontario
• Modified an existing stone revetment
• Utilized specialized construction equipment adaptable to severe slope grades
• Constructed horizontal benches to facilitate reshaping
• Installed “living wall” and coir log erosion features
• Installed silt soxs necessary for 1:1 slope interruption (TM)
• Installed a geo-grid fabric across the face of an upper slope area
• Installed a 2” Eco-Blanket material across the entire 2 acres of the slope
