Controlled Demolition with Asbestos In-Place

Earlier this year, Abscope was hired by the City of Watertown to demolish this condemned, abandoned building which was in imminent danger of collapsing. Friable and non-friable asbestos were found throughout the building, but due to its deteriorated structural condition, the project was performed as a “Controlled Demolition with Asbestos In-Place” following NYS Industrial Code Rule 56. Despite several challenges including sub-freezing temperatures, wind, and snow, the project was successfully and safely completed.
