Miss New York for America!

Abscope’s own Steve Mahana and his lovely daughter Emily, Miss New York for America!

Emily is a life-long resident of Syracuse, NY. She attended Syracuse University to pursue a B.S. in Civil Engineering and graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2018. Emily volunteers for her platform “Empowering Women in STEM”, showing students of all ages what possibilities are available to them if they pursue learning in the STEM fields.

Emily now works in Liverpool, NY as a bridge engineer, and has plans to obtain a master’s degree in Structural Engineering and MBA in the future. In her spare time, Emily enjoys staying active as an Irish step dancer.

Emily was crowned Miss New York for America on March 31st in Rochester, NY. She will represent the state of New York at the national Miss for America pageant on August 23rd in Las Vegas, NV.
