CKD Landfill Closure

Abscope was a member of a project team that that was in involved in the first application of the use of ClosureTurf® in New York State. As the prime civil contractor for the 50-acre landfill closure.

 

Abscope’s responsibilities:

• Responsible for the relocation of over 200,000 cubic yards of CKD into an on-site landfill
• Preparing the surface for installation of the liner system
• Prior to relocating the CKD site preparation work included stripping of 70,000 CY of top soil
• Installing 5000 linear feet of silt fence
• Constructing 2400 LF of access roads
• The project also included the construction of a new 7.5 acres landfill cell and prepping for the new liner system
