Stream Remediation / Restoration

General Location: New York

Abscope was hired by Arcadis to remediate a PCB-contaminated stream located in upstate New York.

 

Abscope’s responsibilities:

• Damming off the work area
• By-passing the surface water to allow for dry conditions
• Excavation of approximately 1000 cubic yards of contaminated sediments
• Dewatering sediments and treated with LKD prior to off-site transportation and disposal
• Following remediation, the upland/wetland area was restored with a biodegradable mat and topsoil
