Stream Remediation / Restoration

General Location: New York

Abscope was hired by Arcadis to remediate a PCB-contaminated stream located in upstate New York.

 

Abscope’s responsibilities:

• Dammed off the work area
• By-passed the surface water to allow for dry conditions
• Excavated approximately 1000 CY of contaminated sediments
• Dewatered sediments and treated with LKD prior to off-site transportation and disposal
• Restored the upland/wetland area with a biodegradable mat and topsoil
