Former Griffiss Air Force Base: Jet Fuel Facility Decommissioning

MAJOR PROJECT TASKS:    

  • Demolition of  pump house and OCB transformer 
  • Remove, clean and dispose four 50,000-gal jet fuel underground storage tanks 
  • Remove and dispose 20,000 gal of jet fuel on static water level 
  • Transfer impacted liquids into Frac tanks for settling and characterization
  • Disposal of water into sanitary system
  • Disposal of fuel
  • Clean approximately 3,000 linear feet of jet fuel piping
  • Remove and dispose of 25,000 gal of 150-propyl alcohol
  • Restore site including concrete runway
