Reliable Tugboat Hazardous Materials Remediation

Abscope was retained by the NYS Canal Corporation for this project to treat an impacted reliable tugboat, prior to sinking the vessel in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Long Island, as part of an artificial reefing program. Meeting an aggressive schedule was a requirement, and Abscope safely & efficiently delivered within the project deadline.

 

Abscope’s responsibilities:

• Dispatching multiple crews, multiple daily work shifts, and weekend work
• Removal of all hazardous materials (asbestos, flaking lead paint, and petroleum products) wood, floatable materials, glass, wiring, and electrical components
• Delivered a successful scope of work, in accordance with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the U.S. Coast Guard
