Upland Preparation for Dredging
General Location: Newark N.J.
This project involved the construction of site improvements at the Upland Processing Facility (UPF), associated with the Phase 1 Sediment Removal Action for the Lower Passaic River Study Area in Newark, New Jersey. The site work was completed to prepare the site for the installation of sediment processing equipment to be used during the dredging phase of the project.
Abscope’s responsibilities:
- Construction of lined staging pads for excavation spoils generated onsite
- Excavation and stockpiling of 4,000 cubic yards of soil
- Installation and testing of 850 linear feet of watertight storm sewer system
- Installation of a storm sewer pump station and controls
- Place and compact 6,000 tons of stone subbase
- Construction of a 90,000 square foot asphalt containment pad
- Placement of 1,300 cubic yards of reinforced concrete foundations
- Dust Controls
- QA/QC Testing
