Electrode Sheetpile Installation – Thermal Remediation

General Location: Baltimore, MD

Abscope was contracted to install a sheet piling to serve as electrodes to aid in thermal remediation.

Installed approximately Z75 steel sheet piling to a depth of 39’ below grade
Drove steel electrodes via an ABI 16/20 Mobilram with vibratory hammer attachment
Drove the top of the electrodes below grade to provide protection from arcing during thermal treatment
Inaccessibility to the sheeting location required a crane mat road through very soft wetland areas
Performed work adjacent to an active CSX Rail line and in an active roadway which required traffic control, flagging and continuous communication during the work
